What does Kobe want?

May 30, 2007 PV Leave a comment

Like Stephen A. Smith put it on Sports center, plain & simple: Kobe wants to win. After all the talking Kobe has done today about trusting his management, people like John Barry want him to sort it out internally. Can Kobe be trusted? I don’t know. But based on what the laker’s organization has done in the past 2 years, maybe we should. If Shaq trusts his words, we all should (remember the good guy in the ‘04 trade). As great as Kobe has played the last 2 seasons the only thing he has to show for his efforts are 1st round losses in both years. The way Mr.Kupchak sounded in his exit interview, it sure didn’t seem like they had any major trade plans or any intent to spend the extra money to make the team a championship contender. I don’t know if it’s luck or what, but the western conference ain’t getting any easier after the draft. Should Kobe wait like KG? That’s not gonna be any great legacy. Like Mr.Ventre said in his column, maybe its a carefully plotted plan by Kobe. I sure like his plan than sitting around and waiting for the management to do something. At least this will force them to act. With the current roster there isn’t any way the Laker’s are gonna come out of the West before Kobe becomes old. Should he gripe? Yeah, I would. Won’t you? Hell any fierce competitor would!

Card’s

The red birds have put some runs on the board for the last 2 games. Is there any other direction they can go, other than up, if the offense keeps scoring.

NBA draft

Boy, can you believe the luck of the Trailblazers? A good trade & a pick last year in Brandon Roy & Lamarcus. Now they get a chance to pick Greg Oden. One other lucky team I guess was Atlanta, considering they would have lost their pick to the Suns if it was 4 or beyond.

Will CIR be any good ?

May 23, 2007 PV Leave a comment

Look at the CIR analysis.. at immigration voice. I was almost dumb founded to read that everybody waiting out there for a GC will have a limit of 90,000 visas & anybody applying under the new visa categories has a better shot (including guest workers) with a bigger number of visas allocated. It almost looks like there is a path being etched out for modern day slavery! Let’s hope there will be some amendments to this bill before it passes the Senate!

Light at the end of the tunnel

As soon as the news of a compromise was out on an immigration bill, all the opposer’s of the bill started to beat the amnesty drum. Do they have an alternate solution? No. I’ve never heard anyone speak about it or debate it. If they want immigration in a legal way why not act on the issues of legal immigration? Why are all the bills put off to be a part of a comprehensive bill and then opposed all in the name of amnesty. All they want is the workers to stay and the legal immigrants to keep paying the fees that they pay renewing their visa’s. At least this time around, will common sense prevail? Let’s see if there is light at the end of the tunnel.
