Couple of weeks back I read an article (can’t remember where) about privacy concerns with Google. I also read the article creepy GMail on google-watch which details how Google scans for data on its applications, yes even my emails. Today I noticed something interesting while using Google tool bar. I have 2 Google id’s. I logged in using one Google id using the tool bar & read my mail. Then I logged out explicitly using the sign out feature & logged in using my other Google id. What do I see? my email from the previous id. From what I understand I was never logged out of my first id. Which makes me think if Google is tracking my browsing habits using the tool bar. Obviously every one can see how valuable that data would be to companies trying to attract new customers every day. So is Google as clean as it sounds? Think of using spreadsheets & docs in the same context with big brother spying on you. Maybe every one of us needs to take a step back and look at it from a different angle instead of drooling over every new product Google offers.
