St. Louis hit a high of 103 today breaking a 40 year record for the day. The highs have consistently been hitting the 100’s for the past 2 weeks & it stuck me today if we were ignoring all the early warnings of global warming just whining about it. But if we were to take a step back & look at any realistic options to go green, what’s the probability of finding them without making a huge dent in an average person’s budget. I honestly don’t know & obviously haven’t researched. Maybe every product should specify it’s carbon foot print along with other specs making it easier for consumers to compare various products before they make a purchase. Putting all that aside, something else I read a while earlier comes to my mind. If I recollect it right, I think in the recent G8 summit all the developed nations were mounting pressure on India & China to commit to an agreement on par with all the developed nations on Global Warming. China & India’s response: Not at the cost of our economic growth & certainly not on par with everybody else who’ve already done the damage. Maybe they are right. Being an Indian I might sound biased, but why should they be shooting themselves in the foot trying to clean somebody else’s s**t!
