Is the media trying to boost Lebron James? Is too much hype being put around his game winning shot?

Goodbye Dada!

Although the retirement came a little late, it still did come well in time & on his own terms. Sourav Ganguly will definitely be remembered for the attitude he instilled into Indian cricket if not for his significant achievements. Goodbye Dada!

Stinging Loss

June 24, 2008 PV Leave a comment

After a storied run to the finals the Lakers season came to a screeching halt. Although the C’s defense was exceptional the Laker’s did not help themselves with their poor offensive execution. Nothing could be worse than the game 6 loss. Next season will be a good testament of how well the team has learned from that loss. Especially Kobe, who has been shutdown by similar defense’s in 2 consecutive finals.  All the Lakers fans out there keep rooting. Next season is going to be tougher than hell in the western conference.

Kobe’s Misstep

May 14, 2008 PV Leave a comment

After basically screwing up game 4 with a 1/10 shooting in the 4th quarter & OT, game 5 will truly define if Kobe has become a better team mate. Watching game 4 it was pretty obvious that Kobe kept on shooting like he did at the end because he wanted to be like Jordan. It seemed as if he wanted to show off that he could win the game even with a banged up back. Bad decision! It could be a costly mistake if the Laker’s falter in this series. Let’s see how this pans out. Hey, but being a fan all I can say is Go Laker’s!

Lakers are Back!!

May 8, 2008 PV Leave a comment

For all the drama surrounding the Laker’s & their hyper competitive, ego centric star last summer it is just unbelievable to see them in the position they are today. Nobody even gave them a remote chance of doing as well as they did. Although part of their success has been due to their blockbuster trade for Pau Gasol, there is no denying the fact that the supporting cast has gotten better & also the return of Derek Fisher has helped tremendously.Even a blindsided Kobe fan like me would never have imagined him winning an MVP award.Like they say every year it’s just the wins & the top seeding in the western conference that won him the award, not his stats.

Here is a breakdown of his stats for this & last season.
2007-08 : 28.3ppg, 6.3rpg, 5.4apg
2006-07 : 31.6ppg, 5.7rpg, 5.4apg

With the Laker’s up 2-0 in the western conference semi finals they have a good shot at reaching this year’s finals & possibly winning it all. Well, Laker’s fans cheer on.. This might well be the year of a spectacular Hollywood ending.
